Congrats to the Mendham wrestling team this year, with a record of 16 wins and 9 losses. This season required significant effort to achieve their goals. They dedicated themselves to off-season training more than they have in recent years, in addition to their hard work during the season. Over the years, Mendham wrestling has established a culture within the team where the wrestlers understand what to expect from their coaches, and vice versa. This mutual understanding is crucial. When it comes to facing challenges, each individual responds differently, so they address those situations on a personal level. This year, the wrestlers have encountered numerous challenges, particularly related to weight management and finding the optimal weight class for their competitive success. The team’s structure ensures that everyone has a role to play, from the coaches to the athletes throughout the season. The effort invested paid off, as the Morris County tournament showcased a podium dominated by Mendham players: Rafe Fonte secured 1st place, Aidan Reilly took 2nd, Ralph finished in 3rd, and Paul LeBow placed 6th. The season is still ongoing for many, as several players are advancing to the regionals.
