Last week, Paramount Home Entertainment announced that all four Indiana Jones movies will be released on 4K Blu-Ray for the first time. The collection, which will be released on June 8th, will celebrate the 40th anniversary of Raiders of the Lost Ark, the film that started it all back in 1981. “Relive the unforgettable exploits of world-renowned, globetrotting hero Indiana Jones in spectacular 4K Ultra HD when the INDIANA JONES 4-MOVIE COLLECTION arrives in a new 4K Ultra HD Set on June 8, 2021 from Lucasfilm Ltd. and Paramount Home Entertainment,” the press release read.

Not only will this new 4K release celebrate the 40th anniversary of the series, but is also intended to renew interest in the franchise ahead of its fifth film, releasing in 2022. Since Disney’s buyout of Lucasfilm in 2012, Paramount has retained the distribution rights for the first four films. However, Disney will be distributing the upcoming fifth film, though Paramount will retain the studio credit. This means that it is currently unknown whether or not we will receive a 4K box set of all five films next year. It’s possible that Disney and Paramount will make a deal to make it happen.

The Indiana Jones 4 Movie Collection will cost $89.99, and is now available to preorder at various sites including Amazon. The collection will release just one week short of Raiders of the Lost Ark’s 40th anniversary, so you will be able to experience the classic and its three sequels in the best way possible at home.
