This NFL season, there have been many NFL breakout stars. From the likes of Sony Michel to Calvin Ridley, Kyler Murray, and many more.

As the list goes on and on, one player stands out amongst the rest. That player is Justin Jefferson, WideReceiver from the Minnesota Vikings.

Justin Jefferson is the third of his brothers to go to LSU. At LSU, Jefferson played WR(his current position) and was able to win a national championship in 2019.

He dropped in last year’s NFL draft and winded up in Minnesota. Now he is breaking records and in contention for the ROTY(rookie of the year) race.

Last week Justin Jefferson was the second Vikings receiver to reach 1,000 receiving yards in their first season other than Randy Moss. In some ways, he is identical to Randy Moss in the ways he plays, the ability to make tough catches when it counts. Although Jefferson does not have the speed that Randy Moss had, he makes up for it in his incredible route running and his ability to confuse the defender and create an open pass for the quarterback.

Although the Vikings already have a good receiving core in Zach Randolph and Adam Thielen, Justin Jefferson can add more to the pot and is currently doing the best out of both of them.

Unfortunately, due to Joe Burrows shortened season due to injury, that will remove him from the ROTY race. Instead, this puts Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Running Back for the Kansas City Cheifs, in the top seat. Although, Justin Jefferson is making a name for himself and is on the rise to grab the Rookie of The Year award.

Right now, Justin Jefferson is showing just a taste of his ability and potential that is yet to come. Jefferson is the NFL’s next star receiver.
