If you’ve walked by the area where the security guard’s office is in the lobby, then you are very likely to have seen a sign above the glass and below it a description that reads: The Chester Mendham Food Pantry Needs Our Help with a description of what students can donate to help support the pantry. The Service Club, led by Mrs. Brown and Mr. Dowler, is trying to encourage students to help bring the requested items on the list. Items include: cookies, crackers, chips, oil, laundry, and dish detergent, etc. This all comes at a time when SNAP benefits have been front-page news nationally. During these especially difficult times, the Chester Mendham Food Pantry has tried to be a source of light for those in need. The food pantry continues to accept donations at their site, at local libraries, and here at Mendham HS. Other local schools and groups are also coming together to support this cause, as featured in the images here.
If you’d like to get more involved, the Chester Mendham Food Pantry offers a range of options based on the type of work you want to do. It organizes donations at the pantry and picks up food from its donors, and delivers the food to the families. Visit their site Chester Mendham Food Pantry for more information.
We thank all who participated and continue to support this organization and our Service Club.
