On Wednesday, April 24th, despite the constant back and forth, Mendham Baseball was able to outscore New Providence 11-8.  Although this victory ws for the most part a team win, clutch plays and an insane batting average from the catcher, Kevin Reardon, makes him Mendhams Athlete of the Week. Mendham has been having an outstanding season so far with a 7-4 record and with a goal to eventually win a state championship they hope to keep up the pace. As Reardon’s teammate stated, “The team is insane and are 100% deserving of a state championship”. What put Reardon over the edge was an unbelievable batting average of 1.000! This means he didn’t strikeout at a single at bat that whole game! According to another one of his teammates, Vinny Czarecki, “I believe he [Kevin Reardon] can physically and literally carry the team”. Without Reardon’s amazing play last Wednesday the team may not have been able to pull off the win.
