Ms. Brown has been a part of West Morris Mendham Regional High School’s community for over 20 years. Throughout these years, she has left a long-lasting impact on multiple students. However, during this current school year, Ms. Brown has been granted the opportunity to become the acting assistant principal due to Mr. Ryan’s promotion and the result of Mrs. Meagher’s becoming the current principal.
Ms. Brown was previously a mathematics teacher before this accomplishment. However, Ms. Brown said, “I had always wanted to be an assistant principal.” In addition, she had started her classes three years ago to earn her certificate and recently received it last year. Since then, Ms. Brown has been a hard-working mathematics teacher. As a result of her strong efforts, Ms. Brown was able to accomplish her goal.
Now in this new role, Ms. Brown said she enjoys being the current assistant principal since it is something new and she is granted the opportunity to face new experiences. Although becoming the acting assistant principal has been slightly difficult since it is a brand-new role, Ms. Brown is open and is still learning. After 20 years of teaching, she had become accustomed to teaching, so the transition has been a bit rocky. In addition, Ms. Brown misses her fellow students dearly, but she thoroughly enjoys having the chance to meet new students.
Ms. Brown intends to continue to build on the strong sense of community we have and be supportive of the teachers and the students while still holding people to the high standards that we’re known for.
