This spinoff has also been present since the 90s, with its first episode airing in 1999. Because of the popularity of this series, another spinoff, Law and Order: Organized Crime, premiered in 2021. This variation zooms into the story of one detective in the Special Victims Unit’s life after returning to the NYPD as he must adapt to the changes seen in the city over the past decade.
