On Monday, April 19, the Mendham Volleyball team will face the Chatham Cougars for the North 2 Group 3 NJ High School Girls Volleyball Championship game.

Unlike other games, this game against Chatham puts two teams of similar talent against each other in an intense faceoff. The talent is undeniable on both teams as Chatham maintains eighth overall in the conference with Mendham at eleventh in the conference. So far this season, Mendham has achieved eleven wins with only four losses. Chatham, on the other hand, has achieved thirteen wins with three losses. Considering that both teams have a similar record and have proven themselves a force to be reckoned with throughout NJ high school volleyball, this game will be a nail-biter as the teams fight it out on the court. Marissa Manuel, a junior on the team, states that they “only have forty-five minutes to an hour” of game time to defeat Chatham. Compared to other sports, volleyball games are fast-paced due to the nature of the sport. Therefore, this limited-time will heighten the intensity of the game even further as players only have a finite amount of time to make their mark.

Led by the new head coach Mr. Racz, the Mendham Volleyball team hopes to defeat Chatham in both sets to further prove their talent as a team. The game against Chatham is at Chatham High School and can be live-streamed using this link. Go Mendham!
