It has come to the public’s attention that Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have decided to go their separate ways. The couple has been dating since 2017 and has decided to call off their two-year engagement. The two icons shared this news in an exclusive joint statement today which states, “We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining here. We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another’s children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support”.  Once a bulletproof relationship, JLo and Alex Rodriguez have officially announced their breakup citing complications due to Covid. It was said that the couple hit a rough patch that made them think about what they should do, noting that it was tough for the couple to see each other amid COVID-19 restrictions while Lopez, 51, was working in the Dominican Republic and Rodriguez, 45, was in Miami. Last year, Lopez visited TODAY and told Hoda Kotb that their wedding plans were on hold due to the pandemic. Lopez recently stated, “I’m a little heartbroken because we did have some great plans,” she said. “I’m also like, ‘You know what? God has a bigger plan.” It’s been said that love conquers all, but unfortunately this was not the case for these two star-crossed lovers.
