This Super Bowl The Weeknd will be performing at halftime. The R&B singer will be doing the Halftime show in Tampa Bay when the Cheifs play the Buccaneers.  The Weeknd has many hit songs that he will be performing. He is most famously known for his song Blinding Lights that came out in 2020. The Weeknd has produced many songs that had very similar success to the song Blinding Lights, which is what gave him the honor of performing at the Super Bowl. The Weeknd said, “We all grow up watching the world’s biggest acts playing the Super Bowl and one can only dream of being in that position. I’m humbled, honored, and ecstatic to be the center of that infamous stage this year”(NFL).

Due to the pandemic, only 22,000 fans will be allowed in the stadium. This allows The Weeknd to be able to have more space to fully utilize. Super Bowl executive producer Jesse Collins said “We’re gonna use the stadium to present the show in a way that it’s never been presented before”(Sporting News). While utilizing the whole stadium for the Super Bowl Performance this year The Weeknd will surely be singing Blinding Lights, his most famous song.
