Since the beginning of 2020, tensions have been raised with the talk of the 2020 presidential election. Voiced opinions could be seen all over social media on either Donald Trump or Joe Biden. As time got closer and closer to the upcoming election, more and more people voiced their opinion on who they voted for and why. Many minors have also voiced their views in hopes to persuade Americans to vote for the desired candidate. As for celebrities, many have come out to show who they supported to their fans; they felt as though they needed to spread awareness about certain issues that all Americans should be concerned about. 

A majority of celebrities who have voiced their opinion on social media or to crowds came out to say that they are voting or have voted for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. However, celebrities like rapper Lil Pump and Lil Wayne have come out to show their support for Donald Trump by attending his rallies and wearing “Make America Great Again” apparel (MarieClaire). Many other celebrities have told their fans to vote for Biden through social media. For example, Beyonce and Timothee Chalamet have openly voiced their support for Biden through Instagram and have established their opposition to Trump. According to People Magazine, on November 2nd, Lebron James posted on Instagram saying, “‘One more day. Please 🗳!! We need EVERYTHING to change and it all starts tomorrow. #BidenHarris #MoreThanaVote’”. Ariana Grande has also openly shared her views on politics as she has shown her support to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. According to Elle, Ariana Grande posted on Twitter with a photo that wrote, “it’s a beautiful day to vote for joe biden + kamala harris”. When the results of the election came in, she tweeted “Crying @JoeBiden @KamalaHarris Thank God”. These celebrities are just an iota of those who have openly supported Joe Biden to their fans. From the reports of MarieClaire Magazine celebrities like Selena Gomez, Lizzo, Brad Pitt, Miley Cyrus, and Mariah Carey are just a few more that have told their fans that they are voting for Joe Biden. 

Even with high tensions, idols in the Arts and Entertainment industry as well as athletes have proclaimed their support for either Joe Biden or Donald Trump for the 2020 election. As a new presidential term is coming this January, Americans will surely be hearing more about political opinions from their favorite celebrities.
