Fall has arrived at Pren Kitchen in Chester and with it a new menu of seasonal dishes.  Each day of the week Pren features a different dinner entree. They only make a certain number of these dishes each day, so when they’re gone, they’re gone. Pren prides themselves on fresh home cooking and everything is made to order.  

The specials appear in the following order from Monday through Sunday: Meatballs, Short Rib, Chicken, or Pork Tacos, Panko Crusted Eggplant, Smoked Duck Flatbread, homemade Pierogi, Chicken and Waffles,

and Shrimp and Grits. 

The new menu contains lots of comfort food staples including Chicken and Waffles (Saturday), Tacos (Tuesday), and Shrimp and Grits (Sunday). They have also transferred over some Summer favorites such as homemade Pierogi and Smoked Duck Flatbread. Hostess and waitress Kristen Hedworth describes the flatbread as “very flavorful” and “incredibly satisfying.” 

According to the owner, Kraig Kalashian, certain specials sell out very quickly due to the fact that Pren makes things that no one else sells. Last weekend, Pren opened their new specials menu for the first time. On Saturday, The Chicken and Waffles sold out well before dinner even started as regulars called in their orders starting at 3 PM. Chef Mike Hays outlined this dish by describing the buttermilk waffles as soft and fluffy with lightly seasoned and breaded chicken fingers. This is then topped with a “wonderfully aerated honey butter.”

The specials even include some new vegetarian dishes such as Panko Crusted Eggplant with Spaghetti squash. If you are unfamiliar with spaghetti squash, it looks and tastes like spaghetti but it comes from shredding a gourd. This special is served with crispy eggplant breaded in Panko bread crumbs which contributes a great texture to the dish.

and seizes to sacrifice the freshness for quantity. YELP users agree with those on Instagram. Out of 68 total reviews, Pren Kitchen has received 62 five star reviews on YELP since 2019 when they initially opened.
