The award show season is in full swing, and the 92nd Academy Awards are upon us! A coveted night in the film industry and an entertaining show to watch at home, the Oscars never fail to surprise their viewers and provide some iconic pop culture moments (Ellen’s selfie, J-Law tripping over her dress, the infamous La La Land “win,” . While only the Academy can know who wins what award before the ceremony, we are going to take a look at previous winners to try and predict this year’s victorious films, actors, and directors.

2020 Predicted Winner:

The Irishman. This epic period piece is a thrilling drama detailing an ordinary man’s descent into a life of crime. The academy tends to honor films that show personal growth and a gripping storyline, which the Irishman does, with a cast of legendary actors under masterful direction.

Rami Malek for Bohemian Rhapsody

2020 Predicted Winner:

Joaquin Phoenix for the Joker.

His spine-chilling performance captivated audiences worldwide and pushed Phoenix’s acting to the next level. Joker’s unhinged character was as captivating as it was terrifying. Phoenix’s performance gave depth to the Joker and revealed the person behind the paint.

Olivia Coleman for The Favorite

2020 Predicted Winner:

Renee Zellweger for Judy.

Zellweger’s embodiment of Hollywood legend Judy Garland is deeply emotional, bringing to life the dark and light parts of Judy’s life.
