Athlete of the Week: Kelly McIntyre

This week’s athlete of the week is Mendhams girls lacrosse player Kelly Mcintyre! McIntyre is a current senior and has played varsity lacrosse all four years of highschool. This past week, the Mendham Girls Lacrosse competed in the Morris County Tournament Championship game. There, they faced and defeated Chatham, 11-8! McIntyre contributed 2 goals and 5 draw controls to this victory. The last time the girls lacrosse team won a county championship was 2011, so the girls this year have set high standards for the incoming team! McIntyre was named the MVP of the county tournament, and made great efforts that ultimately led her team to victory. She received an award after the game, which is pictured above. According to one of McIntyre’s teammates, “Kelly has been an incredible leader all season and is absolutely deserving of this award.” Mcintyre will continue her lacrosse career at The University of California, Berkeley next year! McIntyre is a great inspiration for all of her teammates and a role model for the underclassmen. Playing on varsity all four years combined with having the opportunity to play in college makes her a player to look up to not just for lacrosse players, but for all athletes.
