Habitat for Humanity

Grace Hassell and Carleigh DeCamp

Habitat for Humanity is a global non-profit organization that primarily focuses on creating a “world where everyone has a decent place to live.” Their goal is to assist homeowners to build their own homes, along with volunteers, but at an affordable place and in a reasonable time. The organization especially assist families who have been struck by damage from severe storms or extreme poverty.

How Can I Help?

There are many ways to take part in the organization. The first way is through hands-on experience. Volunteers can both travel and help these families build their new home and make it a comforting place to live in. Habitat for Humanity has building programs for everyone, even kids and veterans. If you’re not really a hands-on worker or if construction really isn’t your thing, Habitat for Humanity is more than willing to accept all forms of donations, whether it be money, cars, or building materials.

If you need help or know someone who needs help, you can apply for assistance.
