New Lunch Aide Brings Energy & Support to Mendham’s Community

School lunch is much more than a mid-day meal at Mendham High School. Hours of cooking and prepping occur every day so the students at Mendham can be satisfied with a quality meal. Each day; students have an opportunity to buy breakfast foods, muffins, cookies, fruits, and dozens of other lunch and snack options; thanks to the hard work of the lunch aids. When students stop by the cafeteria for a snack or line up for lunch, they will notice a new friendly face behind the counter, Sherrone Rawles, has joined the Mendham High School staff as a new lunch aid. It is impossible not to notice and feel the great energy and warm personality she brings to Mendham.

In a recent interview with The Patriot, Ms. Rawles expresses her excitement for joining Mendham as well as her other interests and hobbies. Ms. Rawles originally joined the culinary industry because she enjoys working with kids, students, and teachers stating, “I’m a people person anyway, so I get along with basically everybody.” Ms. Rawles also enjoys listening to a wide variety of music while she prepares food. Students will often hear a variety of Jazz, Rap, Hip-Hop, country, and rock ‘n roll when stopping by the C-Floor cafeteria for lunch. In her free time, she enjoys going to plays, movies, and restaurants with her friends as well as making her famous fried chicken and macaroni salad.

When asked about one of the main differences between the food quality at Mendham compared to other schools, Ms. Rawles said, “It’s honestly cooked here. Versus food just coming out of bags and just heating it up.” Many appreciate this and enjoy the variety of foods offered.

The Mendham community is thankful to have such a vibrant and warm personality in the kitchen every day. Please stop by the cafeteria or pizza station in C-wing to say hi to Ms. Rawles!
