At this year’s Grammy award ceremony, Beyoncé had become the singer with the most Grammys in the 63 year history of the award ceremony. This year, Beyoncé adds to her impressive collection of awards with the award for best music video for “Brown Skin Girl”, best rap performance for the song “Savage”, Best Rap song for “Savage”, and best R&B performance for “Black Parade” according to USATODAY.com. However, this is just a sample of her historical success at the Grammys.
Beyoncé won her first Grammy in 2001 for best R&B song “Say my Name” with her group, Destiny’s Child. However, her success did not stop after she started her solo career in 2003. Beyoncé went on to win Grammys for best contemporary R&B album, best song, best music video, among many others. Clearly, Beyoncé is an extremely dynamic artist who has achieved success in all of the different award categories. With these accomplishments, Beyoncé has achieved something that no other artist has done in the past. She has earned the greatest number of Grammy awards out of any achieving artist. The Grammys are the most prestigious musical award show as artists covett even a singular Grammy in their career. Beyoncé, on the other hand, added four to her collection just this year which has a total of 28 trophies. The scale of this achievement is hard to comprehend, for she earned the greatest achievement in musical history 28 times.
It is obvious that Beyoncé has shaped the music industry, and continues to leave her impact on it with each year of new successes. Thus, although she has been in the music business since 1990, she has continued to push forward and revolutionize music each year. Beyoncé’s success should not be undermined or forgotten as she has accomplished something that future artists may never be able to accomplish. Beyoncé has already left such an impact on the music industry, and will continue to showcase her ingenious musical capabilities in years to come.
